♥ Karen's Dog Biscuits ♥

My step-mother-n-law
gave me a HUGE bag of dog biscuits
she made along w/ recipes and a cutter.
I was thrilled!
When I got home all the dogs had one
and they all voted they were very good.

(Voting is measured by how fast they are
eaten and by how many growls there are.)

3/4 cup hot water w/ a bouillon cube dissolved
any flavor you choose, beef or chicken
or you can just use plain hot water
or you could use meat juices,
leftover drippings, etc...
1/3 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
1 egg, beaten
3 cups whole wheat flour

In a large bowl
pour hot water over margarine or butter.
Stir in powdered milk, salt & egg.
Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well
after each addition.
Knead 3-4 minutes,
adding more flour if necessary to make a
very stiff dough.
Pat or roll out to 1/2" thickness
and cut out w/ your choosing of biscuit cutter.

Place on a greased baking sheet
and bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.
Allow to cool and dry out.

I adore how the british call cookies biscuits.
If americans chose to call biscuits cookies
why aren't they called dog cookies instead of dog biscuits?

  1. Hey Jackie!

I'm glad to see you are back!!!

I will have to tell my mom about this recipe for the dog biscuits. I'll have to try to make some for my girls too!
