I made a pot of beans the other day &
googled for an easy yummy cornbread and found this:
Easy Yummy Corn Bread
2 cups Bisquick
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter, melted and cooled
1 cup milk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 to 3 heaping tbsp cornmeal
1/2 tsp baking soda
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
PAM a 13x9" baking pan.
Mix all ingredients together with wooden spoon.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes.
When I told my mother how good it was
and relayed the recipe. She said, "Well that's not true cornbread!"
Well maybe not. But... it is melt in your mouth good and hit the spot w/ the beans and I want to save this recipe and make it over and over again. :-)
